Why enroll in "The Starry Beef Box"?
This is the easiest question for us to answer! There are 3 main reasons:
- It is EASY and CONVENIENT. With one click and payment you sit back, relax, and wait for your beef to arrive monthly, for three months.
- You KNOW where your food comes from. Nothing more scary these days than buying food, especially meats, without knowing where they come from. At Starry Nights Farm we are transparent on what we do and how we raise our animals. Our farm is certified organic and our cattle is 100% grass fed. Never ever gran, antibiotics, pesticides, or GMOs. As a member of our Beef Box, you get invited to come to our annual Customer Appreciation party, where you get to see and tour the farm and our operations firsthand. Meet the farmers and see the cows and the pastures for yourself. You will also receive a printed newsletter with each box with stories from the farm, the beef, and our farming protocols so that you get even more knowledgeable and comfortable about where your beef is coming from. This is your chance for a personal connection with your food and your farmer.

Which cuts of beef will I get each month?
Because we are a small farm (and we don't mass produce hundreds of cows at a time) your boxes will vary- maybe from customer to customer but definitely month to month. You are guaranteed 10lbs of beef a month, always some ground beef, definitely a couple of prime cuts like NY Strip, tenderloin, or Ribeye, and perhaps a roast or some stewing meat. We cannot guarantee specifics because each animal we harvest will be different (some weigh more than others) but here is a sample: 3 lbs ground beef, 3lbs Ribeye steaks, 3lbs Chuck roast, 2lb round steak.
Where and when do I pick up my Beef Box?
You don't! We home-deliver all of the boxes straight to your doorstep. The delivery schedule will be sent to you with the enrollment confirmation once we receive your payment. About a week before your scheduled delivery, we will send a reminder email with the date and time frame of your delivery. At that point, we can make adjustments as needed.
Do I need to be home for the deliveries?
Nope! While we would love to meet you, we know life can be hectic. Just leave a cooler in your doorstep or porch and we’ll leave your beef box waiting for you. Don’t have a cooler? No problem! We have foam-insulated boxes we can leave your beef box in so it remains frozen for hours, even in the summer. We are also happy to deliver to an alternate address nearby. Let us know your constraints, and we will work with you to find a solution.
Can I cancel my Beef Box if I’m not satisfied or moving?
Absolutely, you can cancel your enrollment at any time, and we'll refund in full the remainder of your deliveries. We want you to be completely satisfied and happy! To cancel enrollment, please contact us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. For those members moving between our area boundaries, we're happy to change the city and address for your delivery--just let us know!
